Prof Yaakov Nahmias, Founder & CSO

Prof. Nahmias is director of the Grass Center for Bioengineering at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a magna cum laude graduate of The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, did his PhD at the University of Minnesota and his postdoc at Harvard Medical School. Nahmias is a recipient of a National Institute of Health (NIH) career award, two European Research Council (ERC) grants, the Rappaport Prize for Biomedical Sciences, the Rosetrees Trust Prize for Interdisciplinary Science, and the Kaye Innovation Award. Nahmias is a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) and the British Royal Society of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert in tissue engineering and nanotechnology, and entrepreneur whose work established the first 3D cell printing and the first organ on chip technology on the market (HuREL).
